Guys, I have consulted with my better half who has reminded me that it is our wedding anniversary on the weekend of the Honda Festival, and that she has a surprise that weekend which does not involve being at the kart track or indeed anywhere near Crail. I am therefore going to have to give it a miss this year.

aye its easy to forget the unimportant things in life eh matt..
and then there were 10...
right come on - more feedback. those out there that have prokarts that havent currently raced more than twice this year...anything would help. is it lack of free time, spare dosh, cant get a team mate, cost of equipment/chassis/engines to be competitive?
PM me if you want to say but dont want it in the general domain. |

Hello all, As some of you are aware My son Max and Myself (Neill-Racing Kart #11) are new to Karting at Crail. Since we only started karting in April 2010 we are still in a learning phase and we are not best placed to suggest alternative race formats, that said; from what I see, there are 4 tracks listed on the Scottish Karting site, namely Crail, Banff, Golspie & Larkhall. As I understand it, from briefly looking at their respective websites, it is only Larkhall that does not run a proKart class (Please forgive me if I have got this wrong)if this is the case, and each of the three tracks that run a prokart class are experiencing the same problems with grid sizes, then would there be any mileage in contacting these clubs and suggesting a combined format that would suit all three clubs, I know this may require additional travelling throughout the season, but as I see it the majority of the lads who race at crail are travelling and come equipped with their own race weekend accomodation. This suggestion may be unworkable, however it is a suggesion after all. Regards, Allan Neill |

Alright Allan. larkhall only runs msa meetings not sure about the other two tracks. we have been discussing holding an enduro at the track(larkhall) inviting pro-karts/world formula but no plans afoot. the format at crail is non-msa and very different as it is prokarts only.
kev team pikey ps Grant when is the last round of the championship this year? i've shook hands on taking rory's 7kart but canny join the fun just yet as will be racing world formula until october. |

Kev, last round for this season is November (3rd Sunday). if you need a second driver, now is the time to get the practice in for you both before the weather turns. Malc is correct on the Golspie/Banff tracks - they list prokarts but its hire only. from what i understand there isnt an option for owner drivers. Crail is therefore Scotlands only true prokart/endurance championship and is the place to race for owner drivers. I contacted the Grampian Kart club (Boyndie) about running owner driver for free practice over 2 yrs ago and i never heard back. |
